Hacksaw Gaming has obtained registration as an ‘iGaming Goods or Services Supplier - Critical Gaming Systems Supplier’ under Alberta’s new regulatory framework, the company announced. This registration allows Hacksaw Gaming to supply its games to licensed operators once the province’s competitive iGaming market officially opens on July 13.
Alberta is poised to become Canada’s second competitive iGaming jurisdiction, following Ontario’s successful market launch in 2022. The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) will oversee the new framework, which permits licensed operators and suppliers to participate in a regulated environment. Hacksaw Gaming’s early registration positions the company to support operators from day one of the market’s opening.
This approval marks a significant step in Hacksaw Gaming’s North American expansion strategy. The company has been actively seeking regulatory approvals across the continent, and the Alberta registration strengthens its ability to serve operator partners in multiple markets. Hacksaw Gaming now holds licenses or registrations in several Canadian provinces and U.S. states.
Marcus Cordes, Operational CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, commented: “Securing our Alberta registration is an important milestone for the business in North America. Alberta represents an exciting new opportunity for the industry, and we’re looking forward to supporting our partners as the market launches and continues to develop.”
The Alberta market is expected to attract multiple operators and suppliers, similar to Ontario’s competitive landscape. Hacksaw Gaming will offer its portfolio of slots and instant-win games to licensed operators in Alberta, pending final contractual agreements. Further details on game availability and operator partnerships are expected closer to the market launch.
