Betsoft Gaming has announced the release of THE OIL BARONS, a new video slot in its The Series collection. The game is set in the world of oil prospecting and uses a 5-reel, 5-row layout. According to the official announcement, the slot will be made available across Betsoft's network of partners.
THE OIL BARONS includes three bonus features. The Struck Oil feature is triggered when three or more Struck Oil symbols land in the base game. It awards 10 free spins with sticky wilds. The Contract Duel feature is activated by three or more Duel symbols and also gives 10 free spins, this time with frequent VS symbols. During Contract Duel, every VS symbol expands to fill its reel and reveals two multipliers that duel. The winning multiplier is then applied to that reel, and the entire reel becomes wild.
The third feature, The Gusher, begins with three or more Gusher symbols and runs in two stages. Stage 1 grants three respins in which only wilds and multipliers appear alongside non-paying symbols. Each wild or multiplier that lands resets the respin counter back to three. When that stage ends, Stage 2 begins with three free spins, and all wilds and multipliers collected in Stage 1 are randomly scattered across the reels on each spin.
In the base game, the wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except the bonus and VS symbols and can appear on all reels. A Buy Bonus button is also included, letting players trigger Struck Oil, Contract Duel or The Gusher instantly for a set price. The game follows other recent releases in the series, such as THE GOVERNOR, THE ROBBERY and THE GEM MASTER.
